Devotions to the Holy Souls has always been supported by the Church. This particular chaplet is from the Archconfraternity of Notre Dame du Suffrage, established in France
The chaplet or rosary is composed of four decades (40 beads) in honor and memory of the forty hours passed by Our Lord in Limbo, where He went for the purpose of delivering and taking to Heaven the souls of those who had died before He came to redeem us.
Scripture confirms that it is a "holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead" (2 Macc). There are several devotions that can be prayed for the souls in purgatory that they be freed to heaven, this is one such choice.
The Chaplet will come with a material carrying pouch, and a prayer leaflet on "How to pray the "Rosary for the Dead"
The chaplet is made of black & brown duo-style beads with a St. Benedict crucifix and a centerpiece of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. A medal of the Holy Souls is attached.
